MY STORY
Who I Am
I am a Portuguese astronomer, and I lived most of my life in the beautiful city of Lisbon. For a number of reasons, I was given the opportunity to travel a lot. Today, I am settled in Santiago de Chile, working for the awesome ALMA observatory. Have a look at this text to know how I got into Astronomy, or this interview to get to know me a bit more personally.

“La réalité fournit quelquefois des faits si romanesques que l’imagination elle-même ne pourrait rien y ajouter.”
“Reality sometimes provides us with facts so romantic that imagination itself could add nothing to them.”
Jules Verne
“Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts.”
“If you thought that science was certain — well, that is just an error on your part.”
“We are trying to prove ourselves wrong as quickly as possible, because only in that way can we find progress.”
Richard Feynman
“In the end, everything is a gag.”
Charles Chaplin
